The aim of e-Training is to increase the knowledge of health care professionals, provide them with a professional and accessible source of knowledge, remove any doubts and uncertainties and thus increase their confidence while treating patients in emergency and life-threatening situation, and create prerequisites for the development of health services in the areas where they live. Therefore, no fees are charged for this type of professional development, and all the lecturers included in this programme participate unselfishly and generously, sharing their knowledge, experience and time. The health care professionals’ training programme (e-Training) is open to all health care professionals on locations where individual lectures take place.

The professional chambers included in the e-Training programme are the Croatian Medical Chamber, the Croatian Nursing Council, the Croatian Chamber of Midwives, the Croatian Chamber of Medical Biochemistry and the Croatian Chamber of Health Workers and points required for the renewal of licences of health care professionals can be obtained by participating in such lectures.

Lectures are held via separate video-conferencing systems, and on particular locations via video-conferencing systems that are used in providing telemedicine services. Lectures are broadcast from the lecturer’s central location simultaneously towards several telemedicine centres i.e. locations of listeners. All participants can simultaneously communicate audio-visually and may browse the content and materials for individual lectures.
